Find the October 2022 General Conference Jeopardy here.
Another wonderful General Conference is in the books! Were there any surprises for you? I’m sure going to miss Jean B. Bingham, Sharon Eubank, and Reyna I. Aburto. They were amazing women officers! I look forward to getting to know and hear from the new General Relief Society Presidency.
Last General Conference I offered a regular game of Jeopardy and a Speed version. Both were hugely popular! Even though it is a tad more work, I decided to offer both versions again, as well as uploaded both to Google Slides for those who don’t have Powerpoint.
These work best when downloaded to a computer or laptop!! They don’t work well downloaded to a phone or ipad.
Regular Jeopardy has two rounds – Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy – with five categories each (50 questions total for the game). It includes questions from every single speaker from all five sessions on Saturday and Sunday. It can take a long time to play (at least two seminary class periods or two family home evening lessons).
Speed Jeopardy has one round consisting of six categories (30 questions total). It does not cover all the speakers. All of the questions in Speed Jeopardy are also in Regular Jeopardy.
GAME INSTRUCTIONS
Each team must have a copy of the scriptures! The Doctrinal Mastery category covers references given from the Old Testament since this is the book of study for seminary students for this year. Teams must race to find the scripture.
Open the game in PowerPoint Viewer. Depending on your version of PowerPoint you will be asked if you want to enable macros. Yes, you do! You might also have to push “play” in the upper right of your screen again depending on your version of PowerPoint.
Click through the first screen to get to the game board. A student picks a category and a dollar amount. You click on that dollar amount and it will take you to the question. Another click will take you to the answer. THEN click on the green triangle at the bottom of the answer slide and it will take you back to the game board. Hopefully the question previously picked will now be dark and only the “unasked” questions will be highlighted. When you finish Round 1 you will click on the Round 2 box and repeat as above. When you finish round 2 you will then click on Final Jeopardy.
Many people open the game to try it out and then get worried because the amounts will darken after they are clicked on. Don’t worry! To reset the game all you need to do is close it out and reopen it.
You will need to keep score as the Powerpoint won’t do that.
Have Fun!!
The categories for the first round are: Words of a Prophet, Apostles, Music & the Spoken Word, This ‘n’ That, What is the Subject?
The categories for Double Jeopardy are: Doctrinal Mastery, Lists Given, Invitations to Act, Words of Wisdom, Women’s Session
The doctrinal mastery are all from the Old Testament.
I recommend downloading both the powerpoint and the pdf file.

GOOGLE SLIDES
Click on the “Slideshow” button in the upper right corner of the screen to play. Use the instructions above for the powerpoint to play. Google Slides WILL NOT change the link color once a question has been chosen so you will need to keep track of which category/dollar amounts have already been answered as well as keep track of the score. I recommend downloading the pdf files for the games you will be playing as well. You can find those above under the respective games.
